PO-02-191 LEFT ATRIAL STRAIN CAN PREDICT THE OCCURRENCE OF ATRIAL FIBRILLATION: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW AND META-ANALYSIS

چکیده
Despite the broadening spectrum of heart rhythm monitoring techniques, most appropriate modality and duration to detect atrial fibrillation (AF) are not consensual. 2D speckle tracking for left (LA) strain analysis seems feasible cardiomyopathy (ACM), which represents a substrate AF. We aimed perform systematic review meta-analysis on global longitudinal (GLAS) contraction rate (Sra) differences as primary outcomes measured in sinus (SR) between patients with without future AF during follow-up (FU). The random effects model was used. For continuous outcomes, we calculated weighted mean (WMD) compare two groups. identified eight eligible articles consisting 1,230 patients. Six were quantitative GLAS analysis, while three regarding Sra. baseline parameters SR comparable papers. value developing significantly lower compared no (WMD: -5.55% 95% CI -7.06 -4.03 %). Pooled WMD Sra groups -0.44 1/sec, CI: -0.56 -0.33 1/sec. Baseline values than those who remained FU. seem be sensitive parameters, can implemented predictive enabling us find need prolonged monitoring, it serve also guidance anticoagulation indication setting.

Bisphosphonates and atrial fibrillation: systematic review and meta-analysis.
BACKGROUND Bisphosphonates are widely used in osteoporosis, but there have been concerns about a potential link between bisphosphonate therapy and atrial fibrillation. OBJECTIVE We aimed to systematically evaluate the risk of atrial fibrillation associated with bisphosphonate use. METHODS We searched MEDLINE, regulatory authority websites, pharmaceutical company trial registers and product ...
متن کاملCan dexmedetomidine reduce atrial fibrillation after cardiac surgery? A systematic review and meta-analysis
Purpose Cardiac surgery patients always present with atrial fibrillation (AF) after admission to the intensive care unit, leading to high mortality and lengthy hospitalization. Dexmedetomidine (DEX) is a popular medication used for sedation in the intensive care unit; however, whether it can reduce AF needs to be analyzed. Materials and methods Three primary databases, Medline, Embase (Ovid S...
متن کاملThe Relationship Between Physical Activity and Risk of Atrial Fibrillation-A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Aim: The aim of this systematic literature review and meta-analyses was to explore the relationship between physical activity and risk of new-onset atrial fibrillation (AF) or flutter (AFlu). Results: The search revealed 10 published studies that were eligible for three different meta-analyses. A meta-analysis of six case-control studies showed that risk of AF increased more than 5-fold in athl...
متن کاملCan we predict stroke in atrial fibrillation?
Stroke prevention with appropriate thromboprophylaxis still remains central to the management of atrial fibrillation (AF). Nonetheless, stroke risk in AF is not homogeneous, but despite stroke risk in AF being a continuum, prior stroke risk stratification schema have been used to 'artificially' categorise patients into low, moderate and high risk stroke strata, so that the patients at highest r...
متن کاملA Semi-Automated Algorithm for Segmentation of the Left Atrial Appendage Landing Zone: Application in Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion Procedures
Background: Mechanical occlusion of the Left atrial appendage (LAA) using a purpose-built device has emerged as an effective prophylactic treatment in patients with atrial fibrillation at risk of stroke and a contraindication for anticoagulation. A crucial step in procedural planning is the choice of the device size. This is currently based on the manual analysis of the “Device Landing Zone” fr...
